Twenty years have passed since a global pandemic hit our planet. But Ellie needs to somehow cross the territory inhabited by zombies to get to the scientific laboratory. An experienced smuggler Joel is offered a contract - he accompanies the girl on her difficult journey in exchange for weapons. He agrees, and soon young Ellie and her sullen guard are on their way, hoping that they will be able to reach the goal of their journey alive and give people hope for the future.
